  • A STUDY OF POINT DEFECTS IN CRYSTALLINE AND AMORPHOUS SILICON

R. Khatri

Abstract:
The point defects in crystalline and non-crystalline state of tetrahedrally bonded semiconductors show both common features and differences. The case of crystalline and amorphous silicon is discussed.

  • A FIRST PRINCIPLES STUDY OF DEFECTS IN A-SI

R. Khatri

Abstract:
The structural and electronic properties of vacancies in a fully tetrahedral model of amorphous silicon have been investigated by ab initio calculations. A very rich behavior was observed after the atomic relaxation, from the complete rearrangement of the atoms (self-healing) to the creation of stable vacancies.

  • AMORPHOUS SEMICONDUCTOR AND THEIR ELECTRONIC AS WELL AS CONFIGURATIONAL PROPERTIES

R. Khatri

Abstract:
The configurational properties of a-Si, a-Ge and a-Sil-,C, have been studied by Monte Carlo simulation methods. A special attention is given to the selection of the interatomic potential. The calculated networks for the a-Si and a-Ge systems are found to be nearly the same with only a small scaling factor of difference for the bond distances and nearly the same bond angles.

  • OPTIMIZING ROUTING OF RESIDENTIAL SOLID WASTE COLLECTION: CASE STUDY OF CHIKOVA RESIDENTIAL AREA IN ZIMBABWE

Musara Chipumuro,Romeo Mawonike,Tendai Makoni

Abstract:
During the last decade, metaheuristics have become increasingly popular for effectively confronting difficult combinatorial optimization problems. In the present paper, a metaheuristic algorithmic solution, the ArcGIS Network Analyst is introduced, implemented and discussed for the identification of optimal route in the case of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) collection.

  • NANOTECHNOLOGY OUTSIDE THE TISSUES

James J Rickan

Abstract:
This article does not attempt to cover the whole field, but offers, by means of some examples, a few insights into how nanotechnology has the potential to change medicine, both in the research lab and clinically, while touching on some of the challenges and concerns that it raises.

  • ANALYSIS OF SEX RATIO IN HARYANA (CENSUS 2011) – A DEMOGRAPHIC STUDY

Lakshman Rao K.,Haragopal V. V.

Abstract:
The provisional results of census of India 2011 released by the census commissioner. India showed a substantial decline in sex ratio in the age group 0-6 years (child sex ratio) overall Indian states. The 2001 & 2011 census highlighted this issue by devoting a full section on this subject.
