The fish breeds once in a year and the breeding season extended from April to June.

The kidney of the fish, Channa gachua exposed to city garbage and municipal wastes exhibited dilated blood capillaries of the glomeruli, obliterated Bowman’s space, degenerated distal tubule and accumulation of necrotic debris within the lumen. Necrosis in tubules along with accumulations of fibrinous exudates and hemorrhage were also seen.
