Abstract: कबीर-गायन की परम्परा कबीर के समय से ही निर्बाध रूप से चली आ रही है। स्वयं कबीर ने भी तब अपने साखियों और उलटबासियों के वाचन से बड़े-बड़े समूह को प्रभावित किया था। कबीर के बाद तो उनकी साखियों और उलटबासियों के गायन की परम्परा और भी समृद्ध हुई। कबीर-गायन की इस परम्परा में पंडित कुमार गन्धर्व का नाम खूब प्रसिद्ध हुआ। भारत की शास्त्रीय गायन की परम्परा में उन्होंने कबीर को स्थापित करने का काम किया; सिर्फ स्थापित ही नहीं बल्कि शास्त्रीय गायन में लोकधुनों के सामंजस्य के साथ कबीर-गायन और साथ ही साथ भजन-गायन की एक नई शैली भी विकसित की।
