India being the second most populous and having the largest youth population in the world, have both the opportunity for economic growth and the threat of problem of unemployment. And gainful engagement of the youth either through wage employment or self-employment can convert its threat into opportunity. The purpose of this paper is to study the employment situation in India. At present India is facing the problem of unemployment. A brief account of initiatives undertaken by various countries facing similar problem is given in this paper and the recent initiatives taken by the Indian Government to address this issue is also discussed here. Finally the paper gives a case study of TRL-SBI Rural Self Employment Training Institute (TRL – SBI RSETI), an institute which provides skill based training to local unemployed youth of Jharsuguda District, Odisha, India so that they can start their own enterprise. The study is based on secondary information. The paper concludes that, together, governments, entrepreneurs and corporations can spur growth across the country. |

Mohammad Mansoor WARDAKAbstract: The present thesis about political corruption and patronage in Afghanistan, aims to determine the genesis for the problem of corruption and find out the causes, effects, acts and types of corruption initially. This thesis emphasizes that the main causes of corruption are weak rule of law, lack of transparency and accountability in government expenditures, low wages of public servants, corrupt judiciary, nepotism, the monopoly-power of high-ranking officials that provide opportunities for corruption. The thesis goes on discussing the history of Afghanistan and providing a profound understanding of political corruption and patronage in Afghanistan since 2001. Boda RenukaAbstract: The modern banks are facing many risks in their day to day operations due to many external and internal changes. The present study has made an attempt to examine the credit risk management of the banking in India. The study has considered the SBI from public sector bank and HDFC bank from private sector. The Altman Z score has been applied to know the credit risk of the banks. The study found that the SBI has entered in critical zone after the year of 2017-18 and HDFC bank is in critical zone from the year of 2009-10 onwards. It is evident that the Indian banks are having the risk exposure from the capital risk. The banking regulator should alarm the bells to minimize the credit risk, so that the bigger Indian commercial banks will be in safe zone in future. |
