  • A Comparative Analysis of Chemical Quality of Weathered Regolith and Hard Rock Groundwater Environments in Ibadan, Nigeria

Adesola Adediran,

Abstract:
In the Ibadan area of Nigeria, the physico-chemical quality of groundwater was compared between the weathered overburden and hard rock environment, 30 samples of wells and boreholes were surveyed between July 2011 and August 2011. Water samples were analyzed for pH, TDS, Alkalinity, Hardness, Calcium and Magnesium. The results show variations in wells given as PH (5.8-7.0), TDS (99-356), Alkalinity (0.55-2.20), Hardness (2.90-10.35), and Calcium (2.10-9.30), however, variations in boreholes were PH (6.20- 7.10), TDS (109-310), Alkalinity (0.85-2.20), Hardness (3.05-12.35), Calcium (2.10- 12.20), Magnesium (0.30-2.35). The result showed that there is an influence of environment on the quality of groundwater because the parameters of boreholes showed that they had acceptable quality in consumption and domestic uses.

  • A STUDY TO EVALUATE THE PHYSICAL HEALTH STATUS AND NUTRITION AMONG THE ELDERLY IN THE POST PANDEMIC PERIOD

SUDHA DEVI, Dr. NAND APRAKASH P

Abstract:
First case of corona virus disease (COVID-19) was first reported in December 2019 in Wuhan, China, and India faced its first case on 30thJanuary, 2020. Slowly it got spread around world and many countries start getting affected. By looking this severeness, World Health Organization has announced it as a new pandemic on 11th March, 2020. Though each age group found suffered with this Covid-19 but some found vulnerable in terms of morbidity and mortality. As aging come with many immune diminishing as a natural process of aging. Hence, naturally elders were found much affected with Covid-19. The CDC (Centre of Disease Control) has specifically mentioned that in US out of each 10 deaths the 8 are elderly aged at 65 years of above

  • Insect visitors on flowers of egg plant Solanum melangona Linn. documented from an agro-ecosystem in Rajasthan, India

Harshwardhan Bhardwaj, Preeti Srivastava and Meera Srivastava

Abstract:
Among the solanaceous vegetables, brinjal, Solanum melangona Linn. is the most common, popular and principal vegetable crop grown in many parts of India including Rajasthan and is a source of cash income. Brinjal crop is usually self- pollinated but cross-pollination has been reported. The present study was carried out in an agro-ecosystem situated at Bikaner, Rajasthan, India (23° 3’ and 30° 12’ N latitudes) to study the relative abundance of insects visiting flowers of S. melangona Linn. In all sixteen insect species were documented to visit the flower belonging to six orders.

  • A STUDY TO ASSESS THE EFFECTIVENESS OF PLANNED TEACHING PROGRAM ON THE KNOWLEDGE REGARDING THE MENTAL RETARDATION AMONG THE CARE TAKERS OF MENTALLY CHALLENGED CHILDREN SELECTED FROM COMMUNITIES AT MANGALURU.

Yogitha Dr. Pradeep VS.

Abstract:
The present study has accepted the effectiveness of planned teaching program on knowledge regarding the mental retardation among the care takers of mentally challenged children. The evaluative approach was used for the study. The study is implemented one group pre test and post test design. The total number of 60 samples were selected by using non probability convenient technique. The baseline data gathered from the selected samples with the help of demographic proforma and the level of knowledge is assessed by structured knowledge questionnaire. The data was analyzed by using descriptive & inferential statistical methods. The significant finding of the study reveals that the care takers of mentally challenged children has enhanced with their level of knowledge after implementation of structured teaching program on mental retardation.

  • A STUDY ON LINEAR ALGEBRA AND IT'S SIGNIFICANCE

Dr. Sudesh Rathee

Abstract:
With the use of matrices and vectors, linear algebra enables us to get a head start on comprehending fundamental linear systems. The study of vectors, vector spaces, linear mappings, and systems of linear equations are all topics that fall under the purview of linear algebra, which is a branch of mathematics. Because vector spaces are such an important topic in contemporary mathematics,

  • CHARACTERIZATION OF BIOACTIVE COMPONENTS IN PLANTS

Brij Mohan Singh

Abstract:
Plants have served as a source of medicine for millennia, with traditional cultures using them to treat a wide range of ailments. This rich heritage continues to inspire scientific exploration, as researchers delve deeper into the characterization of bioactive components within plants. These components, often referred to as secondary metabolites, hold immense potential for developing new drugs, nutraceuticals, and agricultural products. Understanding the chemical nature and biological activity of these bioactive compounds is crucial. The characterization process involves a multi-step approach, beginning with the selection of the plant material. Different parts of a plant, such as leaves, flowers, or roots, may possess varying concentrations of bioactive components. Once the plant material is chosen, extraction techniques are employed to isolate the desired compounds.
