Abstract:
Effect of herbicide Goal (2-Chloro-4’-trifluoro methyl phenyl -3- ethoxy-4-4nitro phenyl ether) on macromolecular protein content of treated seeds lings was studied of Medicago sativa Linn. The seeds were soaked for 24 hours and germinated inder laboratory conditions. These treated seedlings were studied for protein content. The percentage of protein gradually decreased after herbicidal treatment. As the concentration increased the percentage of protein content decreases. Therefore, protein percentage per seedling was 0.96 at and 0.27 at 500 and 2500 ppm, respectively.

Plastic Waste Detection and Sorting System using CNN and Object Detection Models for Recycling Applications

Abstract:
The increasing diversity of plastic products and the growing accumulation of plastic waste necessitate more effective sorting technologies. To address this challenge, this study proposes a deep learning-based approach for accurately identifying plastic waste on a conveyor belt, incorporating embedded intelligence for real-time processing. Advanced object detection models like Faster R-CNN, RetinaNet, and YOLOv8 were applied, with the focus on classifying specific plastic types, such as Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) and Polypropylene (PP). To accelerate processing, model quantization techniques were implemented, allowing deployment on a commercial off-the-shelf embedded system. The models demonstrated high precision and accuracy, and were optimized to run in real-time on a Nano embedded system, achieving a processing speed of 20 frames per second. This research illustrates how deep learning models can be integrated into industrial waste sorting processes, offering a practical solution for improving plastic waste management and recycling practices through advanced automations.
