  • STRATEGIES FOR IMPROVING STUDENTS ENROLMENT IN AGRICULTURAL EDUCATION PROGRAMMES IN TECHNICAL COLLEGES OF ENUGU

ANEKE, JOSEPHINE A., UGWUEDE, ANTHINIA A.

Abstract:
Technical education deals with the training of technical personnel for the purposes of initiating, facilitating and implementing the technological development of a nation and also to create the basic awareness of technological literacy to our youths. In the 21st century, considering the significant role Agriculture plays to the socio-economic development of every society it has become imperative to the quest for improved skill acquisition and youth empowerment and if Agricultural education is aggressively enhanced by injecting funds into Technical colleges of education, Nigeria would witnessed formidable changes in her standard of technological literacy with reference to Agriculture. This paper titled: ―Strategies for Improving Students Enrolment in Agricultural Education Programs in Technical Colleges of Enugu‖ is written to review strategies with which Vocational and Technical Education in Enugu and in the Nigeria society can be of a better reputation especially in this fourth republic of the democratic dispensation. The paper elicited data from secondary sources such as textbook, magazines, Journals, newspapers and periodicals. It recommends that the nation/state‘s policies and program be adequately strengthened to address the challenges facing the study of Agricultural sciences in Technical colleges in Enugu.

  • Strong Metal Contact Contaminants with Earthworm and its Biological Research

Saroj Yadav1, Dr. Krishan Pal Singh2

Abstract:
Earthworms are omnipotent animals that live in soils, enhancing chemical and physical properties as well as the distribution and activity of microbes and soil. Moreover, it has been reported that the fraction distribution of heavy metals Cu, Zn, Cr, Cd and Pb is significantly altered after earthworm activity, thus affecting the bioavailability of these metals. More than 80 per cent of terrestrial invertebrates' biomass is made up of earthworms.

Kavitha K.R.1, Ramakrishna Reddy K.2

Abstract:
Diabetes is a serious chronic, complex metabolic condition associated with impairment of insulin secretion and /or insulin action where the body cells are unable to utilize glucose resulting in inappropriately high level of blood glucose. Type 1 diabetes is an auto immune disorder while Type 2 diabetes is the most common one where the is either unable to produce sufficient insulin or cannot respond to insulin

  • FUTURE ANTIVIRAL COATINGS TO COMBAT VIRAL INFECTIONSAND THEIR MECHANISMS OF ACTION

Dr LAXMI TANWAR

Abstract:
The pandemic has boosted the demand for antiviral measures and treatments for clean surfaces, particularly in public settings. We look at a variety of natural and manufactured antiviral surface materials and coatings, including metals, polymers and biopolymers, graphene, and antimicrobial peptides, as well as the antiviral mechanisms that support them. We also go through the physico-chemical properties of surfaces and how these affect virus adhesion and persistence. Finally, a review of contemporary antiviral and virucidal materials and coatings processes and uses in consumer products, personal protection equipment, healthcare, and public contexts is provided

  • Effects of Maternal Smoking on Fetus and Child Development: a literature review

Ela Vashishtha

Abstract:
With tobacco being one of the widely used substance there has been a great deal of attention focused on the effect of maternal smoking on fetus and child development impacting future human capital and health. This research article systematically reviewed studies dated 1992-2016 from PubMed, Google Scholar, Science Direct, Medline, EMBASE, National Vital Statistics Report (CDC)to examine the association between maternal smoking and health outcomes offetus and child. The literature is consistent on the negative effects linked to low birth weight, preterm weight, birth defects, abnormal fetal growth and development, sudden infant death syndrome, obesity, neurodevelopmental and behavioral developments, hypertension, asthma, and type 2 diabetes. This review further discuses maternal smoking with a lens of role of socio-economic status, geographic variational and determinants like ethnicity, education, employment, and age. The paper calls for early intervention and provides recommendation to buildstrategies and policies aiming to minimize maternal smoking effects and enhancing child development and human capital.

  • ANALYSIS OF THE CRUDE OIL EXTRACTION PROCESS FROM MADHUCA INDICA

Neetu Saini and Sumer Singh

Abstract:
Mahua oil is a critical source for meeting India's current energy demand. The mahua seed kernels were used to extract the crude oil by Soxhlet extraction with n-Hexane (65-70 °C), pressing with screw-press oil expeller and the combined method (pressing + solvent extraction). The total crude oil extracted from the seed kernel using the Soxhlet extraction method (with n Hexane) was 51%.The soxhlet extraction method is reported a remarkable method in present study .

  • Mathematical Education and Its Past

Dr. Vipul G Patel

Abstract:
Robert Recorde published The Grounde of Artes in 1543, the first math textbooks to be published in both English and French for the general audience. However, the first pieces of writing on mathematics and mathematical operations date to about 1800 BCE. Most of them were found in Mesopotamia, where the Sumerians created a mathematical society that included multiplication and division. They have artefacts that show how they approach problems like the quadratic equation. Two of the most well-known papyri on mathematics written by the Egyptians after the Sumerians are the Rhind Mathematical Papyrus and the Moscow Mathematical Papyrus. The more well-known Rhind Papyrus, which has an estimated date of 1650 BCE, is allegedly only a duplicate of a scroll from a far earlier period, according to scholars

  • A MATHEMATICAL MODELING OF SOLAR ENERGY POTENTIAL AND SOLAR RADIATION MAPPING STUDY

Nomula Venkatesham, Dr Vipin Kumar

Abstract:
The utilization of solar energy has gained significant attention as a sustainable and abundant renewable resource. To harness this potential effectively, accurate assessment and mapping of solar radiation are paramount. This abstract presents a mathematical modeling approach for evaluating solar energy potential and conducting solar radiation mapping studies. The proposed model integrates geographical and meteorological data to predict solar radiation levels at specific locations over time. The Earth's curvature, topography, and atmospheric conditions are considered to determine the amount of solar energy reaching the Earth's surface. Various parameters, including latitude, longitude, altitude, and local climatic factors, are integrated into the model to enhance accuracy.

  • ANALYSIS OF PHYSICO CHEMICAL PARAMETERS OF PINDKEPAR LAKE IN SAKOLI TAHSHIL,DISTRICT BHANDARA,MAHARASHTRA

Chhanda R.Samrit

Abstract:
In the present work an attempt was made to assess the Physico Chemical Parameters of a Pindkepar lake for a period of one year during January 2018 to December 2018. Water samples were collected from four different sampling stations of Pindkepar Lake labeled as S1, S2, S3, and S4. Samples were collected at monthly interval in order to assess physico chemical parameters such as temperature, pH, turbidity, total dissolved solids, total hardness, chlorides, phosphate, nitrates, sodium, potassium, dissolved oxygen and biological oxygen demand, following the standard methods of APHA (2005)[1]. The findings showed that several physicochemical parameters varied significantly, and the majority of the parameters were found to be within the normal range of allowable limits, indicating higher-quality lake water. It was discovered that the water was fit for human consumption.
