  • COINTEGRATION AND CAUSALITY BETWEEN TAX REVENUE AND ECONOMIC GROWTH IN GHANA

Abstract:
This study examines the effect of tax revenue on economic growth in Ghana using quarterly data for the period 1986 to 2010 within the Vector Autoregressive framework. The study found one Cointegration relationship among real Gross Domestic Product, tax revenue, foreign direct investment, government expenditure, consumer price index, gross fixed capital formation and labour force using the Johansen Cointegration approach.
