Abstract:
Foreign direct investment (FDI) is an essential driver of economic growth and development in India. This paper aims to explore the role of government policies and economic factors in attracting FDI to India, examining the challenges that arise from this complex interplay.The paper provides an overview of the evolution of FDI in India, tracing its growth since the liberalization of the Indian economy in the early 1990s. It then examines the role of government policies in attracting FDI, including measures to improve the ease of doing business, reduce bureaucratic red tape, and provide fiscal incentives to foreign investors.
