The term crime does not in modern times, have any simple and universally accepted definition, but one definition is that a crime also called an offence or a criminal offence, is an act harmful not only to some individual, but also to the community or the society. Crime is a problem around the world and represents a significant negative externality to the quality of life in a society. This requires an understanding of the actual and overall level of crime across India. Our paper provides a complete understanding of the various indicators of violent crime and the determinants of these crimes in Haryana using district level data for three census years, namely, 1991, 2001 and 2011. |

डॉ० मनीषा चौहान,Abstract: शिक्षा का उद्देश्य मनुष्य के व्यक्तित्व का समग्र विकास करना है परन्तु दुर्भाग्यवश वर्तमान शिक्षा का उद्देश्य मात्र डिग्री दिलाने तक ही सीमित रह गया है। ऐसे डिग्रीधारी विभिन्न पदों पर बैठे व्यक्तियों का देश के विकास में योगदान नगण्य रहता है। दूसरे के विचारों को रटकर मस्तिष्क में जबरन ठूंसकर कुछ डिग्रियां प्राप्त करके क्या अपने को शिक्षित समझा जा सकता जो शिक्षा जनसमुदाय को जीवन के संघर्ष के लिए उपयुक्त नहीं बनाती, जो उनके चरित्र का विकास नहीं करती क्या उसे हम शिक्षा का नाम दे सकते हैं? वर्तमान समय में हमको ऐसी शिक्षा की आवश्यकता है जो बालक का सर्वांगीण विकास करके उसे मनुष्य की श्रेणी में लाकर खड़ा करे। इसी परिप्रेक्ष्य में स्वामी विवेकानन्द जी के शिक्षा दर्शन का वर्तमान समय में अवलोकन करने पर उसकी पूर्णता का बोध होता है। उन्होंने अन्तर्निहित पूर्णता की अभिव्यक्ति को ही शिक्षा कहा है। वे शिक्षा को चरित्र निर्माण की प्रक्रिया मानते थे । स्वामी जी ने भौतिकवाद को अध्यात्मवाद से समन्वित करके भारतवासियों की उन्नति का मार्ग प्रशस्त किया। उन्होंने देश के नवनिर्माण में अपनी शिक्षाओं द्वारा अभूतपूर्व योगदान दिया। स्वामी जी युगदृष्टा एवं युगसृष्टा दोनों ही रूपों में प्रासंगिक है उन्होंने अपने देश की तत्कालीन स्थिति को समझा और नवभारत के निर्माण की नींव रखी। वर्तमान समय में स्वामी जी की शैक्षिक विचारधारा का आत्मसात करके उन्हीं के बताए मार्ग पर चलना श्रेयस्कर होगा। |
