  • SOCIAL MEDIA, ETHICAL AND CONSTITUTIONAL BOUNDARIES

Dr. Darvesh Bhandari Arzoo Khan

Abstract: Social media platforms have become an undeniable force in shaping the way we connect, share information, and engage with the world. However, with this power comes a complex web of ethical and constitutional concerns. Navigating these boundaries requires a nuanced understanding of the potential for both immense benefit and significant harm. One of the biggest ethical challenges lies in the manipulation of information and perception. The spread of misinformation, often disguised as legitimate news, can have detrimental consequences, swaying public opinion, fueling political polarization, and even inciting violence. Additionally, the curated nature of social media platforms can create a distorted sense of reality, fostering unrealistic expectations, comparison fatigue, and feelings of inadequacy. Furthermore, issues of privacy and data security are paramount. The vast amounts of personal data collected by social media companies raise concerns about potential misuse, unauthorized access, and targeted advertising practices. This data collection can also lead to profiling and discrimination, potentially limiting access to opportunities or perpetuating existing societal biases.

  • Modes of Resistance: Influence of Absurd Drama and Progressive Theatre on Albert Camus and Girish Karnad

Dr.Indhu M. Eapen

Abstract: The Theatre of the Absurd is the return to the old and archaic traditions, but with a difference. Its novelty lies in its unusual combination of its antecedents and the expansion and revaluation of procedures that are familiar and completely acceptable in only slightly different contexts. The dream motifs and the elements of fantasy are frequently found in the Theatre of the Absurd. Albert Camus’ Caligula and Girish Karnad’sTughlaq present an absurd vision of the world through tyrannical protagonists who use their power absolutely. An existential revolt as well as a struggle for asserting one’s existence is clearly pervading throughout both the plays. This article focuses on both Absurd Drama and Progressive Theatre being the major influences for Camus and Karnad in their plays Caligula and Tughlaq.

  • THE MAKING OF PROVINCIAL AUTONOMY ACT AND THE PUNJAB

SHASHI SURI

Abstract: In the Government of India Act, 1919, there was a provision that this Act would be reviewed by a Commission after a lapse of ten years. With the passage of time, the Act of 1919 proved to be inadequate, illogical and unworkable. The system of dyarchy, introduced in the provinces, divided the government into two watertight compartments. It made the minister’s position precarious, as they were responsible to the legislature and could be dismissed by the governors. Consequently, there were demands from the Swarajists and the Muslim League for the establishment of a full responsible government. In 1924, Motilal Nehru moved a resolution in the Central Legislative Assembly, demanding the framing of an Indian Constitution by an Indian Constituent Assembly and establishment of a full responsible government. The Minority Report of the Reforms Enquiry Committee appointed in 1924 under the chairmanship of Sir Alexander Muddiman stated that the Act of 1919 had failed. Two Home Members, Sir Malcolm Hailey and Sir William Vincent felt the need for the revision of Government of India Act, 1919.

  • Advancements in Remote Sensing Technology: Applications, Challenges, and Future Directions

Kamble Pravin Bhanudas

Abstract: Remote sensing has revolutionized the way we understand and interact with our environment. This technology enables the acquisition of valuable data about the Earth's surface, atmosphere, and oceans from a distance. This research paper provides an overview of the principles, applications, challenges, and future directions of remote sensing technology. Remote Sensing (RS) is the science and technology of acquiring information about an object, area, or phenomenon without physical contact. RS involves the use of sensors to detect and measure electromagnetic radiation reflected or emitted from the Earth's surface, atmosphere, and oceans. This paper provides a comprehensive overview of remote sensing, including its principles, applications, and future directions. We discuss the history of remote sensing, electromagnetic radiation, sensor systems, data analysis, and interpretation. Challenges and limitations of remote sensing are also addressed, and future directions for advancing remote sensing technology are discussed.
