Dr. Jyoti Yadav
Abstract:
The study aimed to assess the extent to which COVID-19 has affected the mental wellbeing of workers at shelters, which has resulted in heightened feelings of anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues. It aimed to determine the factors contributing to these issues and to find ways to alleviate the pandemic's negative impact on the mental health of shelter workers. A sample of laborers at shelter homes was surveyed, and descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyze the data. The results showed that 50% of the participants reported experiencing symptoms of anxiety and 30% reported experiencing symptoms of depression. The main factors contributing to the mental health problems experienced by laborers at shelter homes included job stress, financial insecurity, and social isolation. To reduce the mental health impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on laborers at shelter homes, several strategies and interventions were suggested, such as providing mental health support, increasing social support, and improving financial security. These findings highlight the importance of addressing the mental health needs of laborers at shelter homes during the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond.
