Attitudes of HRM for Long-Lasting Economic Development
G.S.JAYESH
Abstract:
The highest unemployment rate in the United States (US), 24.9%, was reported during the great depression from August 1929 to June 1938, and it remained above 10% until 1941. The US unemployment rate reached another high of 9.8% in 2009. Some market watchers predict it will occur again in the next two years. The economy's slow growth causes higher rates of unemployment with declining gross domestic product (GDP). Fewer jobs mean less income for US citizens, and less money available to spend leads to less consumption.

Women Managers and Glass Ceiling Effect
PROF. PARUL SHAIR
Abstract:
It is frequently claimed that the growth of e-commerce has created a more competitive
environment. It is argued that lower production costs of online retailers encourages new entry
in previously concentrated sectors, and a marked reduction in search costs and switching
costs increase the intensity of competition. As Internet-based commerce becomes increasingly
widespread, large data sets about the demand for and pricing of a wide variety of products
become available. These present exciting new opportunities for empirical economic and
business research, but also raise new statistical issues and challenges. This paper studies
about the pricing strategies that are followed by companies online and how it has impacted
the business.Since the 1970s women have clearly made great advances toward equality in education and in
the resultant employment opportunities afforded by an excellent education.Female leaders
have emerged over the last forty years and are making their mark in the business world. The
paper discusses the problem of glass ceiling in organisational sectorand further about the
various hurdles that comes in the way of women in their journey to emerge as managerial
leaders. The solutions to all these challenges are discussed so that the position of women can
be made better and strong.
