  • STUDIES OF SOIL POLLUTION IN NSUKKA URBAN, SOUTHEASTERN, NIGERIA

Abstract:
Several studies have shown that soils within urban areas can be severely contaminated by heavy metals. In present study, 11surface soil sampleswere collected from dumpsites, mechanic village, agricultural farmland, sewage lodge, major market, motor park and major abattoirs throughout the Nsukka urban for analysis.The concentration levels of Fe, Mn, As, Pb, Zn, Cd, Cr, Ni, Cu, and Hg in these samples were measuredand statistically analysedusing standard procedures. The spatial distribution of heavy metals was analysed by the inverse distance weighted (IDW) interpolation method. Pearson correlation matrix was used to ascertain contamination sources of ten heavy metals and to determine the contribution of each source. Results of the analysis show that theconcentrations of heavy metals in many samples exceeded thevalues defined by the World Health Organization

  • Synthesis and Characterisation of Nano-Cobalt Carbonate: A Potential Catalyst for Waste Management

Abstract:
Every now and then, novel strategies have evolved to tackle the issues of plastic waste, incorporating incineration, landfill disposal, mechanical recycling, housing construction with plastic bottles, and feedstock recycling. With regards to developing ecological concerns and reducing petroleum product preserves, theinvestigation of maintainable energy sources is the principle. It has been surveyed and analyzed that the scope ofenergy recovery processes pointed toward transforming waste plastics into feasible fuel choices. Various studies have indicated utilization of catalysts enhances the yield of the by-product in an energy-efficient way. This catalytic process could be further enhanced by increasing the efficiency of the catalyst. Thus, for themanagement process of non-biodegradable waste into various types of by-products, we have synthesized aNano-metal carbonatecatalyst. Nano-cobalt carbonate was synthesized using a hydrothermal process. The CoCO3nanoparticles were characterized using the FTIR, XRD, and SEM analysis which confirmed the development of the nanoparticles with high yield, having high crystallinity and regular spherical geometry.This exploration addresses a spearheading work to tackle the plastic waste emergency whilecreating significant side effects through reactant pyrolysis utilizing Nano-metal carbonate impetuses.

Abstract:
Over the last several years, the retail environment in India has undergone a fast transformation, and the sector has come under scrutiny from both local and international firms via substantial investments. At present, the retail sector in India is consistently ranked as one of the top 10 retail marketplaces in the whole globe. The face of Indian retail has been transformed due to changes in the attitudes of Indian customers and the rise of organized retailing in India. As India's economy has begun to recover, retail consumer spending has been seen as a promising new frontier in recent years. Because of this, more individuals are looking to work in the retail industry than ever. Indian conglomerates are pivotal in this transformation, rethinking their retail strategy to concentrate their efforts better, build their core competencies, and get a foothold in the market. Specifically, they are looking to obtain an advantage in the retail sector. Alterations in customer behaviorandmarket deregulation have been the primary drivers of change in the retail industry. Currently, it is responsible for around 10% of the GDP and employment in the nation. Indian sectors make up a certain percentage of total industries.
